For Student Workers
Your hours
Where your weekly total comes from, what the cap does, and how hours worked at another house are counted.
Your hours are the shifts you hold in one week, counted against that week’s cap.
Do it
- Open My Shifts .
Read the clock chip under the week header.
It reads like This week, 14h of 20h soft cap.
Tap the header arrows to check another week. The cap follows the week shown.
What you’ll see
The total counts every shift you hold that starts in that week. Drop one and it falls.
Rules that apply
- A week runs Monday 00:00 to Sunday 23:59. Each week settles on its own, so nothing rolls over. See Hours, caps, and attribution.
- Your hours count at your home house wherever you work. That is definitional, not a rule with a reason. A float or a cross-house pickup changes the desk, not the total.
- Only scheduled time counts. Stay late for a floater and those extra minutes are lost, because only assigned blocks count.
- The cap is not always 20 hours. Winter break, and any week touching Thanksgiving, fall, or spring break, runs at 40 hard. A summer season sets its own.
If it goes wrong
A warning when you claim. The week is on a soft cap. Tap through and the shift is yours.
The claim is refused. The week is on a hard cap. No manager can waive it. Drop a shift that week, or claim in another.
A permanent pickup skipped weeks. Any over-cap week is skipped, soft or hard, because one tap commits you to many weeks.
