When you get floated

A float sends you to another house’s desk for part of your shift, then back to your own.

Do it

1. Open My Shifts . The card sits at the top, and in Updates .

2. Read the house, day, and hours.

3. Tap Accept if you can work it, or Decline if you cannot.

What you’ll see

Until you answer, your week shows that stretch marked (Pending) . Accepting clears the label. Declining reopens the shift at the other house.

Rules that apply

• Answer by 10 minutes before the float starts. The desk needs to know who is walking in. See Floating: overview.
• Reminders land 6 hours, 2 hours, 1 hour, 30 minutes and 5 minutes before that deadline. You cannot silence them, because only you can answer this one. See Notifications and widgets.
• A float never adds hours. It moves hours you already had, so no cap is checked. See Hours, caps, and attribution.
• Declining is remembered. Your no is your answer for those hours. You are skipped for that gap, and for later floats at that house over the same hours. See Floating: the selection rule.

If it goes wrong

You said nothing. Fifteen minutes before the float starts, the app cancels it and tells your manager. Nobody can commute in that fast, so they pay an Allied guard instead. Decline early.

You accepted and now you cannot go. Call your manager. Nothing automatic pulls you off once the float is yours, because the other desk is counting on you.
