For Managers
People: hiring, roles, transfers
Adding a worker, granting a role, moving somebody to another house, and removing somebody who has left.
This page is a placeholder. Its structure is fixed; the writing lands in a later phase.
The roster is where you add somebody, move them to another house, or take them off the desk.
Do it
Open People and read the house name on the header. An HM (Housing Manager), BA (Building Administrator) or RSM (Residential Services Manager) can view another house here. Hiring and firing still write to your own.
To add somebody, select Hire worker and enter their name, email and phone. Their home house is the house you administer. You cannot hire into another one.
Set Initial role . This is the role grant, and it decides everything they can do. See Which manager are you?.
To move somebody, select Transfer on their row, choose Move to and When . Next season start is the default, or pick a date, or move them immediately.
- To take somebody off the roster, select Fire on their row and confirm.
What you’ll see
The new hire appears active on the roster at once, with hours against this week’s cap.
A future transfer changes nothing today. The worker keeps their house, their shifts and their permissions until the date, and the system applies the move that morning.
Rules that apply
- Either side may transfer. The losing house’s HM or BA and the receiving house’s HM or BA can both do it, so a manager who has agreed to take somebody can finish the move.
- Hiring and firing stay at your own house, because a roster is the thing you answer for. An SM cannot open this screen at all.
- Building ahead already uses the new house. Preference collection and building for an upcoming period read the house the worker will belong to then, which is how you pre-build a transfer before they arrive.
- An immediate transfer reopens the old seats. Their released shifts go back into that house’s open feed so the vacancy is visible and claimable, not silent.
- Harnwell needs no special handling. Somebody transferring out loses their Harnwell shifts in the move, since only home-Harnwell workers may staff that desk.
If it goes wrong
“You can only fire workers home-housed at your own house.” You are viewing another house through the switcher. Switch back, or ask that house’s HM or BA.
“No upcoming season was found.” There is no season boundary to default to. Choose a specific effective date instead.
“That worker already belongs to the destination house.” Somebody transferred them already, or the move applied overnight. Refresh the roster before trying again.
